Bryan and Cheryl

Since Bryan was a little kid he has wanted to own his own business. He worked in the landscape industry as a youth and young adult, and then after graduating from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in Landscape Architecture, he designed and managed for another 6 years. He then decided it was time to have his dream job and start his own business. The only problem was that he wanted to start a business that involved plants and Las Vegas' economy was not conducive to it. Instead he found a need in the market and ran a successful business in the restaurant industry for 8 years. But the plants kept on calling, and when he discovered that Roots Nursery & Landscape (formerly Russells Nursery) was for sale in Yakima, Washington it took him 1 week to move his family of 7 to their new home here in Yakima.

We are thrilled to be here and to continue to provide excellence in plant material and service that Roots is known for. We instantly fell in love with this community and the sincere and kind-hearted people we've encountered everywhere from the grocery stores to the staff at our kids' schools to each person we've dealt with professionally at our nursery. We know that there will be a learning and growing period for us as we dive into this new venture, and we ask the community to “Come Grow with Us!” We are excited to get to know you and to add to the beauty of this valley by providing you with the best products for your yards and gardens.
